You do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that people fail miserably, when it comes to losing weight permanently. It is not hard to lose weight really really fast, but unfortunately fast weight loss can never be permanent. In this article I will prove to you why fast and easy weight loss diets are far from perfect.
The human body is a amazing machine that is able to keep you alive for very long periods, with little or not food. When you are stuck in the middle of nowhere with no food, then certainly you would want to survive as long as possible. Keeping you alive is the main mission of your body and other factors, such as the way you look and how much body fat you have are not important at all.
The problem is that diets for losing weight and starvation are very similar and frankly your body just can´t tell the difference of if you are really starving or if you are just on a diet. The actions the body takes are the same. When you start eating a lot less food than you did before, your body very quickly figures that out. When your body figures out such a big calorie deficit it thinks to itself, "Well, it seems we are not getting nearly as much food as we did before, so we can´t burn as many calories anymore." So if you eat less food, then your body also burns less calories.
For example if you go on a diet and reduce your calories from 1800 to 1200 calories, then sure you will lose some weight pretty fast but it is only a matter of time before the survival mechanism kicks in and sooner or later weight loss stops. The first thing you do, when you hit a weight loss plateau, is to reduce your calories even lower. Lets say from 1200 to 800 calories. Again you lose some weight, but as much and not as fast.
Finally what happens is that you are practically not eat anything and you can only take it for so long, until finally you brake down and start eating like you did before the diet. All the weight you lost comes back again and in fact you can gain more weight back, then you lost with the diet. So fast and easy weight loss diets, that everyone are looking for, are not working and never will.
